The founders of MYA are
Yasmin Akrum, who is a Periodontist.
Adeline Wong, a Prosthodontist and
Michelle Goh, a Life Sciences Researcher by training.
We share a common interest in sports and embracing new and untried ideas.
Yasmin started out in adventure racing in 2000 and has since branched out into marathons, duathlons and triathlons. Through this journey, she has come to appreciate the value of well-designed performance sports wear in order to simply enjoy the races and perform optimally.
Adeline was a self-confessed couch potato till she was enticed and inspired by Yasmin to lead a more active life. Through those training sessions, she realised the difference that climate-suited gear could make on whether one makes a push for another lap or simply give up because it's just way too uncomfortable. As most fashionistas would say, it's more than just clothes!
Michelle was a lab rat trained in biodiversity and ecology. On many occasions, she had to venture into the outdoor jungles and dense vegetations to look for the rare and unique. Often, it was difficult to find the appropriate outfit to suit our hot and humid climate. Other than comfort, ease of movement was her priority.
